All letters and text are deeply laser engraved into the wood. The gears turn on alloy steel pins. Made in USA and designed to last a lifetime. Each gear is approx. 3.7" in diameter Also available on a different listing is a smaller size made from kauri wood and maple. It measures 9.4" x3.2" x 1".
